The 2004 Innovator Awards were presented at the Globally
Positioning the South Conference in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June
13 -15, 2004 as part of Southern Growth Policies Board's annual conference.
The Globally Positioning the South innovators
includes a collection of 14 programs that focus on community responses
to globalization. The 2004 Regional Innovators included programs that
have increased a state's or a community's participation in global
trade and export; programs that have developed international relationships;
and model programs to train students, members of the workforce and
citizens on the skills needed to compete in a global economy.
