Program Description: The SCSPP was created in 1968 as a research, training, teaching, and community outreach organization to enable the Atlanta University Center institutions to more effectively provide needed services to minority and low income communities. It was designed to serve as a mechanism for faculty and students to develop competence in the formulation, assessment, and implementation of public policies which impact minorities. Among the priority projects are research on environmental issues, human resources development, technical assistance to rural community leaders and elected officials, and policy analysis of issues impacting low income and minority people.
