Program Description: The Center for Public Service promotes excellence in public affairs by applying the resources of the University of Virginia to public problems and opportunities across the Commonwealth. The Center brings a broad range of expertise to its programs for governments, public officials, businesses, and the citizens of Virginia. Its activities include applied research in public policy, demographics, and economics; consultation and technical services to government agencies, localities, businesses, and other groups; educational programs, seminars, and conferences for public officials and civic leaders; and an active publications program that includes monographs, statistical data series and research reports. The Center has offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, Southside and Southwest Virginia.
